ସ୍ମୃତି (Smruti)

ସ୍ମୃତି ତୁମେ ଶୀତ ସକାଳର କଅଁଳ ଖରାର ଛାଇ l ସ୍ମୃତି ଶବ୍ଦଟି ମନକୁ ଆସିଲେ ମନେ ପଡ଼ନ୍ତି ଅକ୍ଷୟ ମହାନ୍ତି, ଆକାଶବାଣୀ, ଫିଲିପ୍ସ୍ ରେଡ଼ିଓ, ଆଉ ସବୁରି ଉପରେ ମୋ ଗାଆଁ କହକପୁର l ତିନିଟି ପାହାଡ଼ ମଝିରେ ମୋ ଗାଆଁl ତଥାକଥିତ ସଭ୍ୟତା ଠାରୁ ଟିକିଏ ଦୂରରେ, ଆଉ ଟିକିଏ ପାଖରେ l ସ୍ମୃତି ହିଁ ମଣିଷକୁ ବଞ୍ଚିବାର ପ୍ରେରଣା ଯୋଗାଇଥାଏ l ଆଗକୁ ବଢ଼ିବାର ସାମର୍ଥ୍ୟ ଦେଇଥାଏ l ଆଉ ଦେଇଥାଏ ଅନେକ ରାତିର ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ l ସେଇ ସ୍ୱପ୍ନକୁ ନେଇ ସ୍ୱପ୍ନଭୁକ୍ ମଣିଷଟିଏ ନିଜର ପରିଚୟକୁ ଖୋଜିବୁଲେ ସମାଜର ରାଜରାସ୍ତାରେ l ସେମିତି କିଛି ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ, କଳ୍ପନା, କାହାଣୀ ଓ ପୌରାଣିକ କଥାବସ୍ତୁକୁ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରୟାସ କରିଛି, କବିତାର ରଙ୍ଗରେ ରଙ୍ଗେଇ ସ୍ମୃତିର ପାହାଚରେ ଚଢ଼େଇଦେବା ପାଇଁ l (ରଶ୍ମି ରେଖା ତ୍ରିପାଠୀ)

Memory—You Are the Shade of a Dewy Winter Morning.
The word memory instantly brings to mind Akshaya Mohanty, All India Radio, a Philips radio—and above all, my village Kahakapur.
My village, nestled between three hills —  A little removed from so-called civilization, yet somehow still close to it. It is memory that gives human beings the will to live. It gives the strength to move forward— And brings with it dreams of countless nights. With those dreams in hand, the dream-filled soul sets out to discover their identity on the bustling roads of society.
In this spirit, I’ve made an attempt to color a few dreams, imaginations, stories, and mythological themes in the hues of poetry, and raise them gently up the slope of memory.
