ଜୀବନ ବିବିଧତାମୟ । ବିସ୍ମୟକର ମଧ୍ୟ । କେହି ଜଣେ ଦାର୍ଶନିକ କହିଥିଲେ ସନ୍ନ୍ୟାସୀ ହେବା ସହଜ । କିନ୍ତୁ ସଂସାର କରିବା କଷ୍ଟସାଧ୍ୟ । ସୁଖ-ଦୁଃଖ, ହସ-କାନ୍ଦ, ଲୁହ-କୋହ, ଆବେଗ-ଉତ୍କଣ୍ଠା, ମିତ୍ରତା-ଶତ୍ରୁତା, ଷଡଯନ୍ତ୍ର ଆଉ ଆୟୋଜନର ଗନ୍ତାଘର ହେଉଛି ଜୀବନ । କବିଙ୍କ ଭାଷାରେ ଜୀବନ ଏକ ଭାନୁମତୀର ପେଡ଼ି । ବାସ୍ତବରେ ଜୀବନର ଅନ୍ୟ ନାମ ସଂଘର୍ଷ । ଏ ସଂଘର୍ଷ କେତେବେଳେ ବଞ୍ଚି ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ତ କେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ପାଇଁ । ପୁଣି କେତେବେଳେ ମୁକ୍ତି ପାଇଁ । ସଂଘର୍ଷ କରୁ କରୁ ବେଳେବେଳେ ଅସହାୟ ହୋଇପଡେ ବିଚରା ମଣିଷଟି । ପରିବାର ଉପରୁ, ସମାଜ ଉପରୁ ତଥା ନିଜ ଉପରୁ ଭରସା ଉଠିଯାଏ । ପରିସ୍ଥିତିର ତାଡ଼ନାରେ ନିଷ୍ପେସିତ ହୋଇଯାଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଏକ ଅବଚେତନ ଅବସ୍ଥାରେ ମନର ନିଭୃତ କୋଣରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରେ କିଛି ଉଦ୍ଭଟ ଚିନ୍ତା । ମନ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆଶାର ବୀଜ ଅଙ୍କୁରୋଦ୍ଗମ୍ ହୁଏ । ସେ ଜୀବନକୁ ଭିନ୍ନ ଭାବରେ ବଞ୍ଚିବାକୁ ମନେ ମନେ ଆଶା ବାନ୍ଧେ । ଏମିତି ଏକ ବିଷୟବସ୍ତୁକୁ କେନ୍ଦ୍ର କରି ଏ ନାଟକ କୁହୁକଦୀପ । କଣ ସେ କୁହୁକଦୀପ, କଣ ତାର ଭୂମିକା ? ଏ ସବୁର ଉତ୍ତର ପାଇବେ ନାଟକଟି ପଢ଼ି ସାରିବା ପରେ ।

Life is full of diversity. It is also astonishing. A philosopher once said that becoming a monk is easy, but living a worldly life is difficult. Joy and  sorrow, laughter and tears, pain and anger, emotions and anxieties, friendship and enmity— life is a chime of conspiracies and plans. In the words of a poet, life is like Bhanumati's basket—a collection of mixed and surprising things. In reality, another name for life is struggle. Sometimes the struggle is for survival, sometimes for status, and sometimes for liberation. Through constant struggle, a person sometimes becomes helpless. Trust in family, in society, and even in oneself begins to fade.
During such a time, crushed by the blows of circumstances, some strange thoughts begin to arise in the unconscious corners of the mind. The seed of hope begins to sprout. The person quietly begins to dream of living life in a new way. It is around this idea that the play "Kuhukadeep" is centered.
