ଅନେକ ବର୍ଷ ତଳେ ଲେଖା ସରିଥିବା ମୋର ଏହି ଉପନ୍ୟାସିକା ନଷ୍ଟ ଝିଅର କାହାଣୀ ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୋଇ ରହିଥିଲେ ବି ଅନେକ କାରଣ ଯୋଗୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇପାରିନଥିଲା । ତେବେ କହି ରଖେ ଉପନ୍ୟାସିକାର ଚରିତ୍ରଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବରେ କାଳ୍ପନିକ । ନିଜ ଚାରିପାଖରେ ଘଟୁଥିବା ଅନେକ ଘଟଣାକୁ କଳ୍ପନାର ଶରୀରରେ କାୟାପ୍ରବେଶ କରେଇ ଲେଖା ହୋଇଥିଲା ଉପନ୍ୟାସିକା “ଏକ ନଷ୍ଟ ଝିଅର କାହାଣୀ ।” ଏଥିରେ ଯଦି ପାଠକ ସତସତିକା ମଣିଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ଖୋଜିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରିବେ (ଯାହାକି ବହୁ ସଂଖ୍ୟକ ପାଠକଙ୍କ ପ୍ରକୃତି) ତାହାହେଲେ ମୁଁ ନାଚାର । ତେବେ, ଏହା ମୋର ପ୍ରଥମ ଉପନ୍ୟାସିକା । ତେଣୁ କଞ୍ଚା ହାତର ସ୍ପର୍ଶ ପାଠକକୁ ନିରାଶ କରିପାରେ । ସେଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରଥମରୁ କ୍ଷମା ମାଗିନେଉଛି ।

A Word About the Novella

Though I completed writing this novella many years ago, “Eka Nasta Jhiara Kahani” could not be published at that time due to various reasons. Now, as it finally prepares to see the light of day, I would like to clarify that all the characters in this work are entirely fictional.

While the story draws upon events and experiences observed in my surroundings, they have been reimagined and given life through the lens of fiction.

If any reader tries to look for real-life individuals within these pages—which many readers often tend to do—I must admit, I cannot help that.

This is, after all, my first novella. The rawness of a beginner’s hand might leave some readers disappointed, and for that, I seek your forgiveness in advance.
